Case study

Jacobs Vehicle Systems at IAA Hannover

International stand construction, audiovisual integration and interactive product presentation for a leading automotive technology brand.

Project overview

Bano has supported Jacobs Vehicle Systems for multiple editions of IAA Hannover. The project focused on translating complex automotive technologies, including engine braking systems and valvetrain solutions, into a clear, professional and engaging exhibition experience.

As a technical and creative production partner, Bano combined stand construction, audiovisual technology, interactive product presentation, logistics and on site execution into one integrated approach.

  • Client: Jacobs Vehicle Systems
  • Event: IAA Hannover
  • Location: Hannover, Germany
  • Project type: International exhibition stand, AV production and interactive brand experience
  • Bano role: Stand construction, AV integration, logistics, technical production and on site support

The challenge

Jacobs Vehicle Systems needed a professional exhibition stand that could present highly technical automotive innovations in a way that was both visually strong and easy to understand for an international trade audience.

For the 2022 edition, the stand concept had to be adapted to a new location in Hall 22, Stand C11, with a different layout of approximately 11.5 by 10.5 metres. This required a fresh look at the design, visitor flow, technical setup and practical use of the available space.

At the same time, the project required a more efficient approach to budget and build complexity. The goal was to simplify the stand where possible, while keeping the strong brand presence, technical quality and visual impact that Jacobs Vehicle Systems needed at an international automotive trade show.

The solution

Bano developed and delivered an exhibition environment where stand construction, AV technology and product storytelling worked together. Large LED screens and professional displays were integrated into the stand to support brand communication, product explanation and sales conversations.

A curved branded banner, mounted in a truss construction, created strong visibility from across the exhibition hall. This helped Jacobs Vehicle Systems stand out in a busy trade show environment and gave the booth a clear visual identity.

The stand also included physical cylinder head displays placed on custom designed pedestals. These product displays were combined with interactive iPad based touchpoints. Visitors could point the iPads at specific areas of the valvetrain models to trigger animations explaining technologies such as CDA, VVA and HPD.

This made complex engineering easier to explain during conversations with customers, partners and prospects. Instead of presenting the technology only as static hardware, the stand turned it into an interactive experience.

Stand construction and technical production

The booth was built with a high quality finish, including printed fabric graphics in tension frames, illuminated showcases for product models and a closed meeting room for up to eight people. This created a balance between open product presentation and private business conversations.

Practical facilities were also integrated into the design. A hidden storage area provided space for a refrigerator, coffee machine and stock, keeping the visible stand area clean, professional and ready for use throughout the show.

Bano coordinated the practical execution from Groningen, including transport, stand building, AV preparation and technical support on site in Hannover. The build typically started around mid September with a team of stand builders and AV specialists.

The result

The collaboration helped Jacobs Vehicle Systems present complex automotive technology in a strong, professional and accessible way. The stand combined product visibility, technical explanation, hospitality and meeting space within one coherent exhibition concept.

Previous editions were considered highly successful by the client, with strong visitor traffic and stand engagement. The positive results contributed to the continuation of the partnership for later editions of IAA Hannover.

Why this project is relevant

This case shows how Bano supports international brands that need more than a standard exhibition stand. Jacobs Vehicle Systems required a combination of stand construction, audiovisual technology, logistics, interactive product communication and reliable on site execution.

That combination is especially relevant for companies exhibiting at automotive events, industrial trade shows, technology conferences and international product launches in Europe.
