Case | International medical congress AV production
For Shire International, now part of Takeda, Bano delivered the audiovisual facilities and technical production for the Hematology Research Study Update in Vienna. The three-day congress brought together around 150 international medical experts in a high-end setting where branding, presentation quality and interaction had to work seamlessly together.

| Location | Grand Waterfront Hall 1-2-3, Hilton Vienna Danube Waterfront, Vienna, Austria |
| Date | March 14, 2019 to March 16, 2019 |
| Audience | Approximately 150 international medical experts |
| Project type | High-end international congress and strategic AV production |
The Hematology Research Study Update was a specialist medical congress in Vienna, organised for an international audience of healthcare and medical research professionals. Bano was selected as the primary partner for all audiovisual facilities and technical production.
The project required more than standard congress AV. The environment had to support a professional medical learning setting, high-quality presentations, panel interaction and the visual transition from Shire to Takeda.
For Bano, this was exactly the type of project where technical production, stage design, branding, audio, projection and pre-production all needed to come together in one controlled execution.
The main challenge was to create a polished congress environment that felt reliable, international and visually aligned with the client’s brand transition. The audience consisted of around 150 medical experts, which meant that every technical detail had to support clarity, focus and interaction.
Presentations had to be sharp and readable. The stage needed to look custom and branded. Panel discussions and Q&A moments had to be easy to follow. The technical setup also had to work within the practical constraints of the Grand Waterfront Hall at Hilton Vienna Danube Waterfront.
Bano supported the process from the first site visit in Vienna through to the final on-site execution.
Bano delivered the full audiovisual and technical production for the congress. This included stage design, branded congress elements, projection, audio, discussion microphones, lighting, content integration and technical coordination.
Bano created a large personalised backdrop of 20 by 5 metres with integrated projection screens, giving the congress room a strong and consistent visual identity.
The lobby included branded hospitality desks to extend the event identity beyond the main room and support the guest experience from arrival.
Bano provided a custom-made LCD lectern for speakers, helping the presentation area feel professional, branded and technically integrated.
A specialist team led by a Technical Producer managed the integration of audio, video, lighting and digital content throughout the congress.
For the visual setup, Bano used Barco RLM-W12 projectors and a Barco S3-4K processor. This setup supported sharp, reliable presentation output across dual screens.
In a medical congress environment, projection quality is not just about appearance. Slides often contain detailed graphs, clinical information, study data and speaker visuals. Readability and stability are essential for the audience to follow the content properly.
The projection system was therefore designed to support both the branding of the room and the quality of the scientific presentations.
Bano used an advanced Meyer Sound speaker system, including MINA line arrays, to provide clear and controlled audio throughout the room.
For panel discussions and audience interaction, the setup included 75 Dicentis discussion microphones. This helped maximise participation during Q&A sessions and made it easier for medical experts to contribute from the room.
This level of audio planning is especially important in international medical events. Speakers, moderators and participants all need to be heard clearly, without the technology slowing down the discussion.
A key part of the project was the pre-production phase. Bano supported the client from the first site visit in Vienna through to the technical planning and final delivery.
3D stage design was used to define the look and feel in advance. This gave the client a clear view of the final setup before production and helped reduce technical surprises on location.
For international congresses, this approach is valuable because many decisions need to be made before the team arrives on site. A clear visual plan helps align the client, venue, production team and external partners.
The project required close coordination with the client and external partners, including SpotMe for the event app. This helped create a future-facing learning environment where physical AV, digital content and participant interaction supported the same congress experience.
International medical congresses involve many moving parts: venue requirements, speaker needs, branding, presentation files, interactive tools, room layout, timing and technical rehearsals. Bano’s role was to bring those elements together in a stable production environment.
This case demonstrates Bano’s ability to deliver high-end AV production for an international medical audience outside the Netherlands. It shows experience with congress environments where technical quality, branding, interaction and reliability are all critical.
For organisations in healthcare, life sciences, pharma, education or international business, this is an important proof point. It shows that Bano can support complex, content-driven events where the AV setup is part of the professional credibility of the room.
The HRSU Vienna case is useful evidence for clients planning high-quality congresses, medical meetings, expert forums, advisory boards, international training sessions or branded knowledge events.

This case can support several Bano service clusters. It is especially relevant for international clients looking for proof of experience in medical congress AV, pharma events, expert meetings, high-end conference production and European event delivery.
The Shire and Takeda HRSU case shows how Bano approaches international congress production: start with the event objective, translate it into a technical and visual plan, prepare the production in detail and deliver it on site with a specialist team.
For international clients, this reduces risk. The client does not have to manage AV, stage, projection, audio, branding and technical coordination as separate pieces. Bano brings those layers together in one production approach.
That is especially valuable for medical and scientific events, where clarity, timing, interaction and professionalism directly influence the quality of the meeting.
Specialist congresses with expert audiences, scientific presentations, Q&A, panels and branded room design.
High-quality meeting environments for healthcare professionals, researchers, commercial teams and international partners.
Smaller but high-value meetings where discussion microphones, audio quality and presentation clarity are essential.
Multi-day programmes where stage design, projection, audio, branding and technical production need to work together.
Bano supports organisations with AV rental, event technology, technical production, stage design and on-site delivery in the Netherlands and across Europe. For international clients, that means one production partner can help turn a congress plan into a reliable technical setup.
The HRSU Vienna project shows how that approach works in practice: strong pre-production, clear visual planning, professional AV equipment, experienced technical direction and careful execution on location.
Bano supports international organisations with congress AV, stage design, projection, audio, discussion systems, branded environments, livestream, recording and technical production across Europe.
